A joint venture between Systems Consultants Associates, Inc. and PPG Industries, Inc., SEC was formed in 2001 to serve as a Tier 1 supplier of electrocoated frames and many other vehicle components for Nissan North America’s Canton, Mississippi plant. Since the 133,000-square-foot facility’s formal opening in April 2003, SEC has rapidly become a proven leader in quality electrocoating and related value-added services with a customer base that spans numerous automotive and industrial companies.
William “Bill” Cooley, Chairman of the Board and Founder of Systems Consultants spent 50-plus years managing diverse organizations in academe, the military, industry, and small business. In the US Air Force for 21 years, Bill was decorated for his service in Vietnam with the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with Five Oak Leaf Cluster. Former Dean of the Business School at Jackson State University, he earned a B.S. degree in Chemistry from Tuskegee Institute, a Master of Science degree in Industrial Management from the University of North Dakota, and a Doctorate of Business Administration from Mississippi State University. During his tenure as a college professor, Bill established the consultancy that eventually led to the formation of SEC and other related companies.

Toni D. Cooley, Chief Executive Officer
Toni has 30-plus years of experience in management, marketing, government relations, and law. She is responsible for SEC’s strategic direction and marketing. Toni holds a B.A. degree in Business Administration from Stephens College and J.D. degree from the University of Minnesota Law School.
Michael Thomas, President
Michael has a wide variety of financial, budgetary, managerial and systems improvement experience. He is a degreed Accountant with over 30 years of experience in financial and organizational management. He has managed budgets of over $400 million and has supervised as many as 50 managers and more than 2,000 employees. He has overseen operational functions including human resources, business services, transportation services, information technology services, facilities management, property/inventory accounting, and campus police, to name a few. Since the early 2000s, Michael has committed considerable energy, effort and study on organizational systemic improvement through human resource professional development, performance metrics monitoring and reporting and quality customer service. Michael is responsible for implementation of overall company strategy.
Joshua E. Ashaka, Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
A Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Global Management Accountant with more than 29 years of accounting, financial management, and consulting experience, Joshua is responsible for the accounting, finance, treasury, and information technology operations of SEC. He holds a B.S. degree in Accounting and a Master of Professional Accountancy degree from Jackson State University.
Mike McGuffie, Chief Operating Officer
Mike has accumulated over 43 years of manufacturing experience, including 25 years with a Fortune 500 company. Throughout his career, Mike has utilized innovative technologies to enhance performance in distribution, manufacturing, financial management, warehousing, industrial engineering, and human resources. He oversees the day-to-day operations of SEC. Mike obtained a B.A. degree in Business Management from Mississippi State University.

Our largest customer is Nissan North America. We are the ship-to-broadcast, just-in-time exclusive supplier of electrocoated frames for all full-size Titan trucks, mid-size Frontier trucks, and NV light commercial vehicles manufactured in sequence by Nissan in Canton, Mississippi. Also, we electrocoat assemble, pack, and ship other production and service parts for Nissan and Nissan suppliers. Our other automotive customers include suppliers of production and service parts for Mercedes-Benz, Ford, Chrysler, and GM as well as antique car restorers. Some of our industrial customers have included manufacturers of drill bits, fence systems, architectural grating, structural supports, and generator racks.
We are located at 253 Old Jackson Road in Madison, Mississippi—15 minutes north of Jackson, the state capital, and less than 3.3 miles from the Nissan-Canton plant. Our southeastern United States location is highly accessible to various automotive plants and suppliers in the region, as we are situated just off Interstate 55 (which runs from as far north as Chicago to New Orleans in the south) and 15 miles from Interstate 20 (which travels from South Carolina to far west Texas). Our facility sits approximately 3 hours from Memphis, Tennessee, and New Orleans, Louisiana; 4 hours from Birmingham, Alabama; and 7 hours from Houston, Texas.
Our proximate location to major automotive OEMs in the Southeast offers opportunities for significant savings in transportation and logistic costs to our current and prospective customers.
